Come explore with us! With nature and horses as our teachers, we will gain leadership skill, communication skills, self-confidence, self-awareness and tools to create calm and empowerment.
The Barn School provides a very unique and successful program of Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning and Wisdom of Yoga, Mindfulness and neuroscience that allows children to thrive in their own unique way.
Equine Experiential Learning is a fun and empowering program for children. The program combines a series of engaging equine activities along with Drumming, Expressive Arts, Wisdom of Yoga, Social Thinking, Mindfulness, Experiential Sensory Awareness, and Movement. These activities are proven to decreased anxiety, increase self-regulation, deepen self-awareness and acceptance, teach leadership skills, build compassion, strengthen problem-solving skills and much more.
Some of the horses at The Barn School are rescues, some with physical or emotional issues that have benefited dramatically from being a part of a system that listens as carefully to the needs of the horse as it does the human participants.
The miniature horses at The Barn School are always willing to lend a helping hoof. 💫Our days are filled with fun and learning.
As community support is so important to all beings, The Barn School also plays a role in strengthening connections within and throughout the community to nurture a more supportive network for both parents and children. We offer ongoing events for Barn School parents and the whole family.
Through engaging mindfulness activities we learn new skills for self-awareness, emotional management, and emotional agility. The horses help make the techniques more enjoyable, engaging and effective in your everyday life. Emotions are information and horses tune in with all their sense to gain understanding and make decisions. A horses priority is to feel safe and comfortable. Horse provide us with the opportunity to learn new ways to connect to our emotions and reduce anxiety. Relating to the horses, being in nature and practicing tools to reduce anxiety affect positive changes in individuals and influences the body’s own hormonal system to create inner calm. Horses are non-judgemental, they provide a sense of being heard and understood. Being in nature and connecting with the horses rejuvenates and refreshes our bodies and minds.
