Come explore with us! With nature and horses as our teachers, we will gain leadership skill, communication skills, self-confidence, self-awareness and tools to create calm and empowerment.
The Barn School provides a very unique and successful equine experiential learning program that allows children to thrive in their own unique way.
Equine Experiential Learning is a fun and empowering program for children. The program combines a series of engaging equine activities along with drumming, expressive arts, social thinking, mindfulness, experiential sensory awareness, and movement. These activities are proven to decreased anxiety, increase self-regulation, deepen self-awareness and acceptance, teach leadership skills, build compassion, strengthen problem-solving skills and much more.
Many of the horses at The Barn School are rescues, some with physical or emotional issues that have benefited dramatically from being a part of a system that listens as carefully to the needs of the horse as it does the human participants.
Sign up today. We offer weekday Home Learners programs, weekend workshops as well as private and semi-private sessions for children and adults.
As community support is so important to all beings, The Barn School also plays a role in strengthening connections within and throughout the community to nurture a more supportive network for both parents and children. We offer ongoing events that are free for Barn School parents and/ or the whole family to attend.
We are an approved service provider and also offer a bursary program for families who qualify.

Horse provide us with the opportunity to learn new ways to reduce anxiety. Relating to the horses, being in nature and practicing mindfulness tools to reduce anxiety affect positive changes in individuals and influences the body’s own hormonal system to create inner calm. Meet Julia Morgan Founder of The Barn School
Julia has been passionate and working with horses all her life. She is a certified Advanced FEEL® practitioner. FEEL® stands for Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning®, and horses are a very active participant in the process. Using a horse-led series of exercises, equine experiential learning works with the horse’s natural sensitivity to physical movement and emotional states to help people gain self-knowledge and acquire skills leading to personal growth through positive life changes. Julia’s focus is on children. Her journey began with her own son, who was non-verbal and diagnosed as severely autistic, and is now an outgoing, talkative and confident little boy, a transformation that Julia credits to the horses and learning to connect with his environment more like a horse would. As Ethan still faces challenges, anxiety and pain from a severe GI disease, the horses are a very important part of helping with his journey.
